Abstract
The adversarial principle is one of the fundamental functional principles of civil procedural law; it creates favorable conditions for clarifying all circumstances essential to the case and rendering a well-founded court decision. The analysis of the organization and functioning of contemporary civil proceedings based on adversarial and equality of the parties is crucial for addressing the issue of the directions for the development of this principle at all stages of civil proceedings. Considering the significance of the adversarial principle, the author of the article reveals the features of the content and implementation of the adversarial principle in the civil procedure of the Republic of Moldova and foreign countries.
