Abstract

The Maghreb countries have been and remain a vital region for the Euro-Mediterranean states, thanks to the millennium-old connection of corresponding societies, including in the context of the democratization processes of the region under consideration. However, the truth is that Europe has had and continues to exert a significant influence on the democratization process of North Africa, in particular, through the implementation of various processes of societal reconciliation that have passed through authoritarian regimes, offering specific programs and projects to strengthen citizens' trust in state institutions.
